Five Whitman Songs


A five-song cycle on poems of Walt Whitman that narrates acquaintance, infatuation, seduction, commitment, and bliss.  The third song of the set, "As Adam, Early in the Morning" won first prize in the 2005 San Francisco Conservatory Art Song Composition Competition, and was declared "a perfect song" by William Bolcom.  Mezzo-soprano and piano.  8.5"x11".  Duration approx. 14'.
