Lament for a Wayward Nation offers listeners a musical space in which to mourn and reflect on suffering. Although it was in large measure composed as a personal expression of profound sorrow over political circumstances at the time of its composition, the work can also be heard as a universal, apolitical expression of grief. Premiered in 2007 by the Gettysburg Chamber Orchestra (Norman Nunamaker, cond.), Lament for a Wayward Nation begins mournfully and slowly builds to an anguished climax. String orchestra. 8.5"x11". Duration approx. 11' 30".
